Email Connect (with or without OTP)
Email Connect Authentication prompts guests to enter their email address to gain access to the network. This method allows you to collect email addresses and additional guest data, which is stored in your device’s database. You can also enable OTP (One-Time Password) for added security, requiring users to verify their email address.
Follow the steps below to enable Email Connect Authentication:
Step 1 - Configure Captive Portal appearance
- Log in to the Admin Panel to manage your Captive Portal.
-
Customize the Global texts and Landing page settings in from Captive Portal > Landing Page.
-
Personalize Media Content by uploading media files to Captive Portal > Media Gallery.
- Add your custom Terms of Service and Privacy Policy texts in Captive Portal > Legal Compliance.
Step 3 - Enable Email Connect Authentication
- Scroll down to the "Guest Authentication" section.
- Select the checkbox for "Enable Email Connect"
This option will prompt users to enter their email address to connect. Their email, along with any additional information collected, will be stored in the device's database.
Step 4 - Customize Email Connect Fields
- Email Connect Title: Set a title for the login method (e.g., "Connection via Email").
- Email Connect Text: Provide a brief description (e.g., "Use your email address to get connected to our network").
- Email Connect Label: Customize the email input field label (e.g., "Email address").
- Email Connect Validation: Ensure the correct validation for the email field (e.g., "You must enter a valid email address").
Extra Fields:

You can leave one or all extra fields blank if you don't wish to collect that information.
Step 5 - Enable OTP (Optional)
- If you want to add a layer of security by verifying the user’s email, select the "Require OTP Email Verification" checkbox. When enabled, users will receive a one-time password (OTP) to the email they provide. They must enter the OTP to complete the connection.
Step 6 - Save Changes

⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Data Storage: Email addresses and any additional information entered (e.g., name, surname, city) will be stored in your database. Make sure to inform users about data usage via your Terms and Privacy page. You can update and customize your service terms and privacy policy on the Legal Compliance page to reflect how guest data is being handled.
- Data Access: Extra fields and email addresses will be stored in the device's database. Email user data can be accessed under Analytics > Email Users.
- Email Customization: To customize email text and subject please go to Captive Portal > OTP Validation page.
To customize the OTP Email template colors, navigate to Captive Portal > Theme Editor > Email Styles section. - Custom Mail Server: By default, the system uses a shared email server to send OTPs. If you'd like to customize the email sender or configure your own SMTP for outgoing emails, you can do this under Campaigns > Connectivity Settings.
- Concurrent Login Methods: You can enable multiple authentication methods simultaneously by selecting options like Voucher login, Facebook Login or Mobile Validation, in addition to Email Connect.
