How to Configure

  1. Login to Admin Panel
  2. Navigate to Guest Network > Guest Ethernet

Configuration Steps

  1. Enable Guest Port:

    • Toggle the switch to enable or disable the Guest Ethernet port.
    • Monitor port status, speed, and current traffic.

  2. Configure Port Scheduler: (optional)

    • Enable the scheduler and select operational days.
    • Use sliders to define active hours for each day.
    • Save the schedule to apply the configuration.

  3. Set Up VLAN Tagging: (optional)

    • Enable VLAN tagging.
    • Enter a VLAN ID (1-4095).
    • Enable "VLAN Traffic Only" (default - see notes below)
    • Enable "Use Service Tag" for advanced VLAN settings.
    • Save the VLAN configuration.

Notes

  • VLAN Configuration: Ensure the VLAN ID matches the configuration on your network switches or routers.

  • VLAN Traffic only: Should remain enabled in most cases. This feature isolates traffic exclusively to the specified VLAN.
Ensure VLAN traffic configurations align with your network infrastructure to avoid conflicts.

  • Scheduler Recommendation: Use the scheduler to limit guest network availability during off-hours.

Features Overview

1. Traffic Monitoring: Provides real-time traffic statistics for guest ports, including:

  • Rx Rate: Data received rate.
  • Tx Rate: Data transmitted rate.
  • Total Traffic: Cumulative traffic data for each port.

2. Graphical Insights: A pie chart visualizing the traffic distribution across multiple guest ports.

3. Port Status Table: Displays detailed statistics such as Port Name, State, VLAN, and Scheduler status.

How to Configure Guest Ports

  1. Monitor Port Traffic:

    • Navigate to the Traffic Table to view real-time Rx/Tx rates and total traffic per port.
    • Use the pie chart for a graphical overview of traffic distribution.

  2. Adjust Port States:

    • Use the dropdown menu in the Port State column to enable or disable individual guest ports.

  3. Configure VLAN Settings:

    • Click the pencil icon next to the VLAN column to open the VLAN configuration modal.
    • Assign a VLAN ID and set tagging options as required.
    • Save changes to apply the VLAN configuration.

  4. Set Up Schedulers:

    • Click the pencil icon in the Scheduler column to access the scheduling modal.
    • Define operation hours and active days for the port using the intuitive scheduler interface.
    • Save the schedule to enable automatic port state changes.

  5. Reset Statistics:

    • Use the Reset Data button above the traffic table to clear traffic statistics and start fresh monitoring.

Notes

  • VLAN Traffic only: Should be enabled in most cases. This feature isolates traffic exclusively to the specified VLAN.
Ensure VLAN traffic configurations align with your network infrastructure to avoid conflicts.

  • Scheduler Recommendations: Use the scheduler to limit port access during off-hours to enhance security and bandwidth management.

  • Reset Traffic Data: Regularly reset data for accurate monitoring and reporting.
