Backup and Restore

This page enables users to restore device settings from backup files and create snapshots of the current configuration. It provides flexible options to back up or restore the entire system or Captive Portal settings, ensuring data integrity and quick recovery.

Features

  • Restore Configuration – Import a backup file to revert the system to a previous state.

  • Full System Backup – Save all settings, user data, and configurations.

  • Captive Portal Backup – Backup only the Captive Portal content and settings.

  • User Data Export – Export stored user data in CSV format.

  • Progress Monitoring – Displays real-time status of backups and restores.

Restore Configuration

Step 1: Select a Backup File

  1. Navigate to System > Backup & Restore.

  2. Under Restore Configuration, click Choose File.

  3. Select a previously saved .bak backup file.

Step 2: Import Backup

  1. Click Import File to start the restore process.

  2. A progress bar will indicate the upload status.

  3. Once completed, the system may reboot automatically.

 

⚠️ Note: Restoring will overwrite current configurations. Ensure you have a recent backup before proceeding.


Create a Backup

Step 1: Choose a Backup Option

  1. Navigate to System > Backup & Restore.

  2. Select one of the following:

    • Full System Backup – Saves all settings, configurations, and user data.

    • Captive Portal Backup – Backs up only Captive Portal-related settings.

    • Export User Data (.csv) – Exports all stored user data as a CSV file.

Step 2: Download Backup

  1. Click the corresponding Download button.

  2. The system will generate and prompt you to download the backup file.

  3. Store the backup securely for future restoration.

Important Notes

  • Ensure sufficient storage space before creating backups.

  • Avoid interrupting the restore/backup process to prevent data corruption.

  • Store backup files securely off-device to avoid data loss.
