Free Access (with or without validation)

Free Guest Access allows guests to connect to the network either immediately after accepting the Terms & Conditions or by completing simple, operator-defined validation steps such as a password or optional form fields. Depending on configuration, Free Guest Access can be used with no data collection or with limited, operator-defined input, while maintaining a simple and accessible connection experience.

Free Guest Access (Accept Terms and Connect)

This option allows guests to access the network by accepting the configured Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, without entering any additional information. No user identifiers or input fields are collected as part of this method. This mode is suitable for environments where a frictionless connection experience is required and no validation or data input is needed.

Follow the steps below to enable Free Access (Accept Terms and Connect):

Step 1 - Configure Captive Portal appearance

Step 2 - Navigate to the Authentication Page

Step 3 - Enable Free Guest Access

The "Free Guest Access - Bypass Page" method cannot be combined with other authentication methods, as it fully bypasses the Authentication page.

Free Access with Validation (Survey or Password)

Free Guest Access with Validation allows operators to apply simple validation mechanisms before granting access, such as:

  • Optional custom input fields

  • A shared venue-wide password

  • A “Connect to WiFi” confirmation button

All validation fields are operator-defined and may be enabled or disabled as needed.

Step 4 - Customize the Validation fields

  • Enable and label optional extra fields if guest input is required (for example, name or location)

  • Configure a shared WiFi password, if password validation is required

The "Free Guest Access - With Validation" method can be combined with one or multiple authentication options, such as Voucher Login or Paid Access. For example, a user can connect for free using a password, but also has the option to upgrade to higher speeds by signing in with Paid Access or Voucher Access.
