Free Access (with or without validation)
With Free Access users can either connect instantly by accepting your Terms and Conditions or with additional validation methods, like a quick survey or password. Whether you're offering pure simplicity or gathering guest data, this solution is flexible and efficient.
Free Guest Access (Accept Terms and Connect)
With Free Access, users can connect to your network in just one click, simply by accepting your Terms and Conditions. This is the perfect solution if you want to provide a frictionless, branded experience without collecting any user data.
Follow the steps below to enable Free Access (Accept Terms and Connect):
Step 1 - Configure Captive Portal appearance
- Log in to the Admin Panel to manage your Captive Portal.
-
Customize the Global texts and Landing page settings in from Captive Portal > Landing Page.
-
Personalize Media Content by uploading media files to Captive Portal > Media Gallery.
- Add your custom Terms of Service and Privacy Policy texts in Captive Portal > Legal Compliance.
Step 3 - Enable Free Guest Access
The "Free Guest Access - Bypass Page" method cannot be combined with other authentication methods, as it fully bypasses the Authentication page.
Free Access with Validation (Survey or Password)
With Free Access with Validation, you can require guests to fill out a quick survey and/or use a venue-wide password to get connected. It’s the perfect balance between seamless access and ensuring you gather useful information.
Follow the steps below to enable Free Access with Validation:
Step 1 - Configure Captive Portal appearance
- Log in to the Admin Panel to manage your Captive Portal.
-
Customize the Global texts and Landing page settings in from Captive Portal > Landing Page.
-
Personalize Media Content by uploading media files to Captive Portal > Media Gallery.
- Add your custom Terms of Service and Privacy Policy texts in Captive Portal > Legal Compliance.
Step 3 - Enable Free Guest Access with Validation
Step 4 - Customize the Validation fields
- Customize the extra fields if you're collecting guest information. For example, ask for their Name, Surname, and City to gather data. Make sure each field is correct so users know what answers they need to provide.
- Set your WiFi Password—for this example, it’s "12345678". Guests will need this to connect. If a user enters an incorrect password, they’ll see the message: Wrong password.
If you don’t need users to enter a password for free access, simply leave the password field blank. This allows for a seamless "Connect to WiFi" experience where users can get connected without entering a password, but with collecting some data through a survey.
Step 6 - Save Changes
- After configuring the fields for Free Access with Validation, click Save to apply the changes.
The "Free Guest Access - With Validation" method can be combined with one or multiple authentication options, such as Voucher Login or Paid Access. For example, a user can connect for free using a password, but also has the option to upgrade to higher speeds by signing in with Paid Access or Voucher Access.
