Legal Compliance

This page allows admins to manage and customize the legal agreement that is displayed to users during the Captive Portal process. The "Terms and Privacy" page ensure that guests are aware of the terms of service and privacy policies required for accessing the Guest WiFi network, while the "Unsubscribe Page" gives admins the ability to manage the text and layout shown to guests who wish to unsubscribe from communications.

⚠️ Important Notes:

  • Guest Data Storage: Some authentication methods may store guest data (e.g., email or mobile number) in the database. As the administrator, you are responsible for ensuring compliance with data protection regulations such as the GDPR, and for informing users how their data will be used.

  • Compliance Responsibility: Guests must be clearly informed about their rights and how their personal data will be handled by your company. Regularly review and update your privacy texts to remain compliant with evolving legal requirements.

  • Data Retention: WAVER OS supports automatic deletion of stored guest data to help meet legal retention policies. You can configure these settings under System > Data Retention.
