Paid Access
Paid Access is a feature of Voucher Authentication that enables guests to purchase internet access using PayPal or credit cards. This approach integrates a payment portal within the Captive Portal, providing a way to monetize your WiFi service with customizable plans. The system automatically generates voucher codes upon payment and guests can either log in directly or choose to receive access credentials via SMS.
Follow the steps below to enable Paid Access Authentication:
Step 1 - Configure Captive Portal appearance
- Log in to the Admin Panel to manage your Captive Portal.

Customize the Global texts and Landing page settings in from Captive Portal > Landing Page.

Personalize Media Content by uploading media files to Captive Portal > Media Gallery.
- Add your custom Terms of Service and Privacy Policy texts in Captive Portal > Legal Compliance.
Step 3 - Enable Voucher Login and Paid Access Button
- Scroll down to the "Guest Authentication" section.
- Select the checkbox for "Enable Voucher Login."
- Enable the "Paid Access Button" option to show a button below the Voucher Login section.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
Step 4 - Configure PayPal Payment Portal
To enable payment processing using integrated PayPal checkout, follow these steps:
- Create PayPal App Credentials:
- Go to developer.paypal.com and log in with your PayPal business account.
- Click My Apps & Credentials from the dashboard, then click Create App.
- Enter a name for your app, and on the next screen, copy the Live Client ID and App Secret.
- Access Voucher Manager:
- Go to Voucher Manager to your WAVER Gateway at "http://{waver_gateway_ip_address}/vouchers" (default LAN/MGMT access).
- Go to Voucher Manager to your WAVER Gateway at "http://{waver_gateway_ip_address}/vouchers" (default LAN/MGMT access).
- Configure PayPal Settings:
- Navigate to Settings > Payment Portal Settings.
- Enable "Payment Portal" and paste your PayPal Live Client ID and App Secret.
- Click Save Settings.
Step 5 - Set Up Payment Plans
- Go to Payment Plans to create or customize plans based on pricing, time limits, or data quotas.
- Assign titles and descriptions to guide users through selecting their desired plan.
Step 6 - Save Changes and Test
- Ensure all configurations are complete, then test the Paid Access flow.
- Confirm that users can access the Payment Portal, select a plan, and pay with PayPal or a credit card to obtain internet access.
⚠️ IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Data Storage: Payment details such as name, address (not credit card details), and access logs will be stored securely in your system. Make sure to inform users about data handling practices in your Terms and Privacy Policy, which can be updated in the Legal Compliance page.
- Send SMS Confirmation: Configure SMS settings to send payment confirmations by navigating to Voucher Manager App > Settings > Payment Portal Settings.
- Concurrent Authentication Methods: Paid Access can be combined with other login options like Facebook Login, Email Connect or Mobile/SMS Authentication.
